Dear Corps participant:  
 
Early childhood teachers have been shouldering the burden 
of low pay for far too long. Don't let the budget cuts cut 
our stipends. Cuts of over 25 percent have been proposed 
for the AB212 teacher stipend program. Don't let them take 
this money away.  
 
- Sign a postcard and collect more. The California Corps 
postcard and legislative campaign is off and running? You 
can get your postcards by emailing Katie Dettman at 
kdettman@uwba.org or calling 415-808-4393  
 
- Send us an email letting us know how the AB212 or CARES 
stipend programs have helped you take care of children and 
their families.  
 
- Come to one of two Bay Area speaker trainings to prepare 
to speak to your legislators in Sacramento. RSVP your 
interest now! San Leandro, in the East Bay Area, Saturday, 
March 1, half day. (Please see attached Save the Date 
flyer). A second training in Contra Costa County, date and 
place to be determined, will be held. Stay tuned.  
 
- Join us in Sacramento. Take our message to Senate Pro Tem 
Don Perata and Assemblyman Gene Mullin. Date to be 
determined, in late March or early April. Stay tuned.
