Educate staff on communication, Foundations, children's behavior and more. Enhance learning experiences with training games and adult learning concepts. Registration is now open for CAEYC's 4th Annual Training the Early Childhood Trainer Conference and CAEYC members can save up to $50 per person by registering early! Preliminary workshop details, a printable brochure and online registration are available at http://caeyc.aaiden.com/main/page/TrainingtheEarlyChildhoodTrainer. Here is a sampling of the 20 workshops you'll find at the 2007 event: Open Space Technology (OST) No need to fear this computer-less technology! Imagine open space in a workshop room rather than rows of chairs, open space on the agenda, and open space in your mind for ideas and conversation to flow. Adult educator Kim Ratz introduces conference participants to OST - a facilitation technique in which the participants design the agenda and leave with knowledge gleaned from one another. Nurturing and Growing Early Childhood Trainers: The Trainer Enhancement Project First 5 Alameda County shares training insight from their 18-month Trainer Enhancement Project. John Gunnarson, Lauren Witten, and Joya Chavarin will explore observation and analysis of other trainers' presentations; a practicum presentation with feedback, metacognitive training processes, and in-depth training on adult learning, workshop planning, facilitation skills, cultural competency skills, and business practices. Let the Games Begin! Keith Pentz, one of the highest-rated presenters at the 2006 conference, returns with the message that it's okay for the brain to think that you're playing when you're actually learning! Training games can be an effective delivery tool for information and help "clear out" unwanted data in the brain. Try out games that are fun and educational for adult learners! Just added! Media: A Tool to Support Learning Learn how the award-winning caregiver series A Place of Our Own/Los Ninos en Su Casa and PBS Ready to Learn children's programs (such as Sesame Street) can enrich young childrens' learning experiences. Tips for productively incorporating media into curriculum will be shared. More details on this new workshop will soon be available! Information on many more of the workshops, plus registration and hotel details is available at http://caeyc.aaiden.com/main/page/TrainingtheEarlyChildhoodTrainer or contact CAEYC at (916) 486-7750 or info@caeyc.org. Thanks Cheterra for the great info each week.
