*URGENT: Senate Labor Committee to vote on our bill, 
AB1164, on Wednesday 
On Wednesday, TOMORROW, the California Senate Labor 
Committee will vote on AB 1164 -- your bill that would give 
40,000 family child care providers a voice in our 
businesses and the child care system by allowing us to 
choose union representation.  
 
Over the next 24 hours, we need calls and letters from 
providers all over California to key legislators in 
Sacramento to VOTE YES on AB1164: A Voice & A Choice for 
Family Child Care Providers. Together, we can do it!  
 
*Here is what you can do.*  
 
1. CALL as many legislators on the list below as you can. 
Ask a parent, provider or friend to make a call, too. Every 
call makes a difference!  
 
Sample Phone Script "Hello my name is _________. I am a 
family child care provider from _________. I'm calling on 
behalf of 40,000 providers in California, to urge 
Senator____________ to vote YES on AB 1164, which is 
authored by Kevin De Leon. You can support working families 
by giving providers a VOICE AND A CHOICE. Vote Yes on AB 
1164. Thank You."  
 
2. WRITE a short letter, email or fax to any State Senator 
on the list below. Remember, calls, letters, and emails 
makes the difference. Simply use the phone script as a 
guide for your short letter or email. Two to three 
sentences of support is all it takes to get your message 
across.
